On the way we will have a stop at the Alley of the Alphabet, where you will be given the chance to find the first letter of your name and take a picture with it. Armenian is an independent branch of the Indo-European languages, that makes it unlike any other tongue in the world.
Further along the route there will be a stop at domed-basilica style Mughni church, which, according to the legend, was constructed over the relics of St. George in the 17th century. There are great many of architectural ornaments, stones of different colors and frescoes in the church.
You will also see the marvelous 7th century temple of Zvartnots which is also included in the UNESCO heritage list.
The tour will take you to the Amberd fortress, located on the slopes of Mount Aragats – the highest peak in Armenia. The name “Amberd” originates from the fact that the fortress is located at the altitude of 2300m above the sea level, translating as “Fortress in the Clouds”.
